The Premier League season started last week with an end to end 4-3 game between Arsenal and Leicester. This set the scene for the rest of the weekend with goals, red cards and shock shorelines. Here is our top 5 player picks for this weekends games.
Top
5 Picks
GK – Schmeichel ($5,400) after conceding 4 goals at Arsenal last Friday night
it wasn’t an ideal start to the season for him. However, he did make 6 saves to
make up for the goals conceded. Playing at home against a Brighton and Hove
Albion side who set up defensively I can see Schmeichel getting points, especially the Win and Clean sheet bonuses.
D- Bertrand ($5,400) had a fantastic start to the Premier League season
and surpassed his average points tally from last season easily. Bertrand
delivered 6 crosses, four of which created chances. Bertrand played as a wing back
therefore spending a lot of time further up the field and it looks like
Southampton will set up that way again this weekend. Bertrand was also on corner
kick duty three times which could see his points and price rise over the next couple of weeks.
M – Mane ($8,600) got straight back to were he left off by terrorizing
the Watford defense. Mane’s season ending injury last spring rocked Liverpool’s
performances. However he was back to his best in week one, scoring a goal, taking 2 shots one of which was on target and creating chances for Liverpool. Up against a Palace side that conceded 3 goals to
new boys Huddersfield you expect Mane to cause them all sorts of problems.
F- Lacazette ($9,000) had a perfect start to his Premier League career. He
found the back of the net in under 2 mins and looked comfortable leading the
Arsenal front line. Lacazette also linked up well with his new teammates by
creating 3 chances and putting in 2 crosses. He certainly suits the Arsenal
style of play and will score many more goals this season. Arsenal usually
struggle at Stoke but I think they will have too much for them this weekend.
Cheap Option – Loftus-Cheek ($3,500) was heavily owned in the first week and it is tough
to leave him out at such a small price. With a tough game at Liverpool he may
not have a big week like he did in his first week but he has the potential to
get a decent points tally for the price of $3,500. Playing further up the pitch
gives him the chance to create chances and take shots. This week he may also have to
play deeper which will then see points for interceptions come in to play.
Good Luck in this weekends games. Let us know if you
like the look of any other players. Post your thoughts in the comments section
